The Wilson family spent a week
camping with Num-Num and Poppa in South Lake Tahoe.
On day 1 (7/1/02) we rode bikes, played
basketball, and swam. They have the most interesting bugs here. Camryn experienced her first fudgecicle. She wasn't sure what to do
with it.
On day 2 (7/2/02) we took Uncle George's
boat out on the lake. It was beautiful out there and a great place
for the girls to catch some Zzzzzzzz's. We went into Emerald Bay
and played on the beach for a while. Then we took a hike and saw
some waterfalls.
That afternoon we all went swimming at the
campground pool. It's great that this year the girls weren't afraid
of the water.
On day 3 (7/3/02) the kids played in the
playground while Stephen and Poppa played some ping pong and horse shoes
and Janine caught up on a few e:mails. That afternoon The
Saich's and Gramma showed up. There was a fire by the Heavenly
Gondola so they couldn't get to their timeshare. All 5 of them
ended up staying the night in Num-Num and Poppa's trailer. It was nice
to spend some time with them.
The Woodson's and Salata's showed up on
Wednesday, 7/3. The kids spent a lot of time riding bikes at the
campground. Kaylee felt right at home on Miss Carie's lap reading
stories.
On day 4 (7/4/02) The Mitchell's showed up
with their 2 girls, Cierra and Logan. They brought a small quad
runner that was a HUGE hit!! Stephen and Janine took Kaylee, Camryn
and Cierra swimming in the afternoon. The girls sure had fun playing together.
Gennifer made this yummy 4th of July dessert for everyone.
That night the Mitchell's and Wilson's went
to see the fireworks over Lake Tahoe. It was an AWESOME show put to
music!!
On day 5 (7/5/02) the Wilson's, Mellin's,
and Mitchell's took all 4 girls to a local Amusement Park. They had
a blast on all of the rides. Cierra is a little dare devil and went
on the big people rides. She loves speed!
That afternoon The Woodson's, Wilson's and
Troy went to a local micro brewery while Num-Num and Poppa watched the
girls and Jacob and Taylor. That night we played "Fuzzy Bunnies"
which means seeing how many marshmallows you can fit in your mouth.
Troy won with NINE!
On day 6 (7/6/02) The Woodson's, Mitchell's
and Salata's packed up camp and headed home. Paul and Kris Meyer
came up and spent the day with us. We played some basketball and
tennis then went to Chevy's for dinner. That evening we all played
miniature golf. The girls got a few good swings in. (As you
can see we didn't have a camera with us).
On day 7 (7/7/02) we packed up camp and
headed home ourselves. We had a GREAT family vacation in South Lake
Tahoe and look forward to doing it again next year.
